Have I ever told you how much I HATE traveling by plane?

I woke up June 22 at 3:15 am to get to the Austin airport by 5:15 am. From Austin, Stephanie and I flew to Dallas and when we arrived at our Gate an announcement came over the intercom that a water main broke so there was no water in the whole airport (no water=no toilets, a very disturbing site!). Before boarding the plane, mind you after an hour delay, I spoke with a girl who was going to Seoul to visit some friends. We also spoke to a family who was going back to the Philippines and we learned from them that students are instructed in English in Filipino schools. We also told them our major and one of the lady's husband is an energy lawyer, I thought that was pretty cool.

The flight to Tokyo was murder, it was 12 hrs and 15 mins long. Can you imagine sitting in a plane for that long?! I can't, but I did. Thank goodness they had plenty of movies to watch and they fed us "airplane food." I watched Wrath of the Titans, The Hunger Games, and Jeff, Who Lives at Home; they were all great movies. I tried to sleep most of the flight, but getting comfortable in an Economy Class seat is impossible. I envied those in first class who were sippin' on Champagne. We arrived in Tokyo on June 23 at 2:00 pm. We had to go through security again and they made us throw out our water, we were so mad! Another thing I noticed was that we didn't have to take off our shoes before walking through the metal detector. It was very easy to find our way to our Gate because everything was translated into English.

By this point we wanted to be in Taipei already. The flight to Taipei was 3 hrs and 11 mins long, I tried to sleep most of the way, but unfortunately a little girl in the row in front of us was throwing up the whole flight, sad and disgusting at the same time. We landed in Taipei at 6:30 pm and got out of the airport by 7:15 pm. We found the National Taiwan University student who came to pick us up, her name was June and she had just graduated from the University. We hopped into a silver Mercedes passenger van and headed to the University. This ride reminded me of the taxis we took to and from the airport in Oahu. Let me tell you, there were some crazy, reckless drivers. We finally got to our dorm at around 8:00 pm, checked in, settled in, and went to sleep.
